MTN_SAMA19

Like most South Africans, tonight i am watching the MTN SAMAs from the comfort of my couch.  Theres no Minnie, Bonang or Sizwe. Im sure people are wondering how this turn out, well So far so good. Toya de lazy opened the show, i must say the technology failed her there. it wasnt as es epic as i had expecfed. i am a big fan, im sure i was the first few people that bought the album.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Desmonds and the Tutus together with Kabelo and Big Nuz was epic! Now we all know anything with Big Nuz is a winner!

Then came Zahara, wrapped up in Mrs Jones curtain! horrifying. All i thought was 'girl the days for The Sound of Music improvisation of outfuts are over. Shame to her stylist, if she has one. Khabomo on the other hand has pulled off that white suite very well for the body size that he is. Twitter is buzzing about Boity's hair, how bad it is. To be honest i see nothing wrong.
And what is that Mabindu grouo wearing!!....shirts made of chiffon....in Red! Horror Then one of the members wets his pants, i wonder.

well Donald is definately in love again, his Valentines inspired performance was convincing. and Newcomer of the year goes tovToya de Lazy!!!....well deserved girl.
i think theres too many adverts in between. its after 10pm and im stilk waiting for that super Wow moment.  Kelly Khumalo looks stunning, with her all black outfit and her blonde hair. Best dressed can go to Nhlanhla Ncinza tonight.

finally Lira drapped in Liquid Gold, Stunning! Well done Gert . She looks like an Egyptian queen. The perfirmance is phenomenal. Then kelly Khumalo performed and the camera went behind her, NUDITY,!

well its all coming to an end now, and they are wrapping up with Dr Malingas performance, mine and the crowds favourite!! Awesome !

Ive had a geniunely great laugh, I hope next year I will be blogging from the venue itself.

Salute darlings, ♥

Hibernation Weekend ...

It's been a great week, with a holiday right in the middle (May day). the sun was shining, I rested like every working person should have been doing. It is now the weekend, well a few hours until it starts, and my phone has received those questions: What are you doing for the weekend Nokie? to be honest with you, I have zero plans. Zilch, Zero, nada !! and guess what? I am not the least bothered. Today i had to drop my car in for service, so you can imagine the amount of money i paid there. So my weekend activities shall be minimal, sadly. It will give me more  time to think about other activities I can engage in that can make me an extra income. Why not?.

My ear is itchy, and in my culture if that happens, then someone is talking about me. lol. funny isn't it. Ok i have just received a call, my car is ready. I had asked my colleague to take me there once they call, i hope he is still around. Otherwise I'll be doomed! I always wonder what I would do if I didn't have plan B or back up plans as they call it. People are not reliable, and if you are a single lady, aich it's so hard hey. I will never forget the incident when my toilet blocked and I was not about to call a plumber, I was flat broke(though I hate to label myself like that) and so I had to think fast and make  a plan. I went to speak to one of the security guys at the complex and asked him if he would be able to assist, and he said he would try. and so I headed to the shops to try and find a Toilet Plunger!!!! yes I found it and brought it home ( I'm sure the cashier lady was wondering what I was doing with that thing). I got home, called the security guy and we went up to my place. He even came prepared with gloves shame. He sorted it out shem, I will forever be grateful to that guy, He really helped me in a very desperate situation, because I would have had to do it myself. IMAGINE!!! well yeah, the perks of being single. not nice at times. Back to my point, so at that time I could not think of a single male that could've assisted me hey, can you believe that. I told myself I would have to review my LBB (Little Black Book)....or maybe scrap it out all together, LOL.

I hope wherever you are single or not, understand the importance of having people around you, because you just never know hey.

Whats for dinner?

i know its a Monday dear people , but everyone has to eat something. whether you are feeling guilty from the weekend binging , or you are starting a new , new weeek, new diet ....well you have to eat.

yesterday i didnt do the whole 7 coloures sunday lunch that i often do, maybe not with all the coloures but some colour. i decided to go simple and made the macaroni and cheese. i enjoyed it, it turned out great. BUT there is no meat in that dish you know, yes i said it. i know i sound like a little scavenger ,....but ladies need protein too. So today i came home and made pork chops! yummy!....Macaroni and cheese with a pork chop on the side ♥no vegies i know, bad girl. i had three fruits at least.

So on that note let me enjoy my dinner, i hope you will be inspired to whip up a lil something and enjoy.

Much Love ♥

Encounters: What's a girl to do?

It is always interesting to meet someone new, by that someone I mean a man. I meet them alright, but ask me where they vanish off to? I don't have the slightest clue myself. I turned 30 this year, and It seems at that age men talk to you in a different manner. Recently this guy, I know from back in  2010, popped up out of nowhere. He came to where I am currently working last Friday, sat and chatted to me for a while. his subject was : I need you Nokwanda, I am tired of just dating for no purpose, I need to settle down and you are the girl for me. Wow, I was taken aback! Well not that much because I for one believe in actions rather than spoken word. so I told him that I will see by his actions how serious he was.

The weekend came, Saturday morning I received a lousy "Good Morning babe" from this "I want you in my life Nokwanda" guy!!!! I did not respond until much later with a simple Morning. and that was it! Communication for the weekend closed. the weekend ended and the week started, Monday morning I left my desk only to come back to 5 missed calls on all my phones including the work phone. Who had died!!! No one, it was this silly excuse of a guy calling me, because hey he had woken up from the weekend and oh he realized that there's a girl called Nokwanda. Mcwim.

today it's a Friday and I have not heard or been invited to any dinner date or outing by this guy. I am not surprised, guys love to throw around silly words to girls, well the thing is I am older and wiser. I will not make any contact with this guy, if he wants me he knows where and how to find me.

Guys have lost all sense of game, I mean what on earth is a girl to do? Living single is NOT a bad option, until I meet the one that will do right! Yes, do right. we cannot allow ourselves to tolerate mediocrity  it's not good for our health and self esteem, period.

Keep reading for more encounters......SALUTE

Weather Blues

Its The cold season and I am certainly NOT the biggest fan. I am summer baby, Born during the heart of summer: January. So you can imagine. My outings are now super limited, I can't stay out too late. My home will get sick of me soon. I am seriously counting the months until spring comes.

Besides the weather being doom and gloom I have my studies coming up and I cannot wait!! it has been a while since I read a book for exam purposes, but hey I am older and wiser with more discipline than before.

I currrently came across a blog, very well written I might add. It's about a Zulu girl that went up to Johannesburg to study, and boy did she get the Johannesburg experience!! It's unputdownable, last night i read until 1am, imagine!I hope someone can see her good work and offer to publish, only because i think it can be an eye opener to most youngsters who come up to Johannesburg for the first time. The series of events is almost unbelievable but it's all true, and it happens on a daily basis. So should it ever get published, it will definately be used as a tool or guide to : Starting a life in Johannesburg, The Do's an Don'ts . I haven't even fnished reading all the chapters but I have such recommendations for it, maybe it's because I also come from KwaZulu Natal. Lol.

On that note, let me get back to work. I will be writing soon. it's bad enough that it's taken me so long to write, but hey  a girl does get busy hey. You know ...

Project Management

Growing up I have been introduced to Project management, through the work that I started by doing. when I was at university I did not know that there was a qualification that focused mainly on Project management. Here I was with my passion for, studying for a science degree in Nutrition. Don't get me wrong, I was fortunate enough to go to a very good girls school that offered us career guidance as well as counselling. I went through aptitude tests, personality tests etc, to try and figure out the route I should take. Luckily enough I had chosen the correct subjects , that could get me into any field of science that I wanted. My first choice being chemical engineering I decided to go with my second choice, which was more driven by passion, nutrition. the studies were great , I learnt a lot and gained more confidence in this field.

the work I started by doing was not related to nutrition but it had some aspects of it, but it was challenging!. there were time frames, deliverable and reports that had to generated. i had to learn fast, and I found myself enjoying the work. Working towards a purpose, a goal, a Milestone. I then started wondering, what could I do to help me understand this field better? I did my research and found a perfect course, a diploma in Project management! Winner. I was happy, from the beginning till the end. I had found my destiny!

Why do I say that, you may ask. Well here is the deal, I am a Capricorn lady. now if you have never come across a Capricorn lady or Man, I suggest you read up on them a bit. I am a strict individual, I have a great sense of urgency, I am focused and I like to see results. In everything. all aspects of life. Personal or Professionally. Give me a meaningful task, and I will run with it until it is thoroughly completed. Yes that's me in a nutshell. So are you surprised that i love this Project management field? I hope not. Lol.

I plan to learn more in this field , and i wish that during the time in high school when we were busy choosing our careers, something or someone could have just picked up my personality and figured that I would do great in this field. Oh well, we can't cry over that now but only be grateful that for as long as I am still alive there is a great amount of possibilities. and that wakes me up every morning, keeps me alive!

One day, I will be a great Project Manager for a great project that will change peoples lives. And that my friend is my utmost wish.

Happy Friday,

Salute <3

Weekend Blues...

The weekend is here!!.....yey! ok What next? I have no plans, nor do i have energy to cook up any. So I get a bbm from my friend asking to meet up for drinks afterwork, Im like well there comes a plan. Bring it on. She has to take a train from Centurion and im leaving from Midrand. Sandton is on my way home(no pun intended)  So its 4:30 and knock off time. Ibgrab my bags abd head to my car. Thep weather is gettung a bit gloomy, it drizzles for a bit but i continue driving. Before i take the Grayston off ramp i ask my friend how far she is, and oops she is still by the offuce since her lift to take her to the station is stuck in traffic.

A little worrying this, because im very clode to entering the Sandtin city parkjng lot. No i did not stop to text my friend, i know, bad driving manners. i am by tge parking lot entrance now and i have an option of going in or just heafing straight home. I get a text from my friend saying i mustnt go into sandton because it doesnt look like she will make it. I am a little disappointed, but i continue to fjnd parking. That proves to ve a difficult for a while abd i get slightly irritated. I park eventually and head to Woolies, there is currentky a sale and si I might find somethung to wear one day. I head straight there, whew tons of variety and so the browse begins. Until i get tired and all clogged up, i am not feeling well and my chest is acting up. I become uncomfortable and leave the shop. Im hungry too!! Goodness could my friday get any better. I spot Mcdonalds and head there for a Spicy cajun meal.

My chest! i need some meds and Clicks pharnarcy is right by the exit. i get assistance from a friendly pharmarcist, pay  for my meds and head to the parking lot. I spot an old school girl, greet her chat a bit and say my goodbyes. i drive off, hand in my fries packet, im starved. Driving and eating , yeah i love that. Guilty pleassure. two bites of the burger and i am Not convinced! You would think only great qulity came from Sandton, well i guess Not.

get home, burger half eaten, fries almost finished. Hobo living this iv swear. With not much to do i change into my pjs, Tv never disapooints. Line up: #Generations, #Tempy Pushas, #LiveAmp.....that should keep me going, right?

oh yes I do watch SABC shows, taboo as it may seem to others. I pay my Dstv and Tv license subscriptions.

Dosed off after my tv shows, with bbm chats in between from my friends.

and so my weekend goes....
